The Revolution of Common-Sense starts with our ballots. San José has traditionally been a strong-voting community, and this is our chance to keep that tradition alive. And your neighbors are voting! Already tens of thousands of ballots have been returned. After every election, the Registrar of Voters publishes a list of who has voted (of course, who we vote for remains secret, they just say who has voted). Make sure your name is proudly displayed alongside our neighbors’ by being a San José voter. Thank you.

Vote Centers are open now and until 8:00 PM on Election Day – Tuesday, March 5. Find a Vote Center near you.
You can also drop off your ballot at a secure drop box. Find the your nearest drop box here.
You can mail your ballot too, but it must be postmarked ON or before Election Day (March 5) to be accepted.
If you are not yet registered to vote, you can still register conditionally in person at the Registrar of Voters Office or any Vote Center through Election Day.

How do I know if I am registered to vote for the March 5 General Election?
- You can check this link to see if you’re currently registered to vote in the upcoming election.
You have until February 20 to register to vote in California online or postmark date for mail registration. If you miss this deadline, the Registrar of Voters’ Office and all Vote Centers will offer in-person Conditional Voter Registration through Election Day.
When will I receive my ballot?
- Ballots were mailed to all registered voters in California in early February.
How do I return my ballot?
- There are several ways to return your ballot and cast your vote!
- Early voting at the Registrar of Voters’ Office is available on:
- Monday through Friday from February 5 2024 to March 4, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays on February 24, 2024, February 25, 2024, March 2, 2024, and March 3, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- You can also vote at the Registrar of Voters’ Office on Election Day (March 5th) between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
I’m not registered to vote, can I still cast a ballot?
- You have until February 20 to register to vote in California online or postmark date for mail registration – check your status here!
- If you miss this deadline, the Registrar of Voters’ Office and all Vote Centers will offer in-person Conditional Voter Registration through Election Day.
How soon can I drop off my ballot?
- Starting February 19 through 8 p.m. on Election Day (March 5th), 24-Hour Official Ballot Drop Boxes are open daily and you can drop off your ballot at any official drop box in Santa Clara County. You can visit this link to find your closest Official Ballot Drop Box or access a full list of locations in Santa Clara County.
When are polling places open to vote in person?
- Vote Centers open February 24. You have 11 days, including Election Day, to vote at any Vote Center.
- 11-Day Vote Centers are open between February 24 – March 4, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Election Day, March 5, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Additional 4-day Vote Centers will open on March 2 through March 4, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Election Day, March 5, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Can I vote at any Vote Center?
Yes! You can cast your ballot at any Vote Center in Santa Clara County. All Vote Centers follow current health and safety guidelines and are prepared to assist voters with disabilities. Vote Center staff can also help voters update their voter registration information and provide instructions in multiple languages.

When is the last day to mail in my ballot?

Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day, March 5, and be received within seven days after the election to be counted.
How late can I return my ballot in person?
- Ballots that are returned in person must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day to any authorized drop-off location in the County including:
- The Registrar of Voters Office: 1555 Berger Drive, Building 2, San José
- Any Vote Center in Santa Clara County
- Any drop box location in Santa Clara County.
How do I update/change my mailing address?
- To change your mailing address, re-register to vote online!
- You can also update your registration through the Voter Action Request Form.

I forgot to sign my ballot! What should I do?
- If you forgot to sign your ballot, you will receive an “Unsigned Ballot Statement” form in the mail requesting you sign and return it by the date on the notice.
- You can also

What if I need a replacement ballot?
- If you did not receive your Vote by Mail ballot, misplaced it, or made an error when filling it out, you can request a new ballot.
- To receive a new ballot by mail: You can request a new ballot to be mailed to you by calling the Registrar of Voters at (866)430-VOTE (8683), emailing [email protected], or submitting a Vote-By-Mail Bal

- To receive a new ballot in-person: After then, you can still visit the Registrar of Voters office or any Vote Center to get a replacement ballot.
- To receive a new ballot online: Visit the Remote Accessible Vote by Mail System (RAVBM) to download and print a ballot that can be returned by mail.
- To receive a new ballot by mail: You can request a new ballot to be mailed to you by calling the Registrar of Voters at (866)430-VOTE (8683), emailing [email protected], or submitting a Vote-By-Mail Bal
Am I able to track the receipt of my ballot?
- Yes! To track the receipt of your ballot visit Santa Clara County’s Track Vote By Mail Ballot or the State of California’s wheresmyballot.sos.ca.gov.
