San José, CA – On Thursday August 22, 2019, The Silicon Valley Organization (The SVO) Political Action Committee (PAC) (FPPC #820668) endorsed Matt Mahan for San José City Council District 10 in the March 3, 2020 primary election.

Matt has served in leadership roles within the community as a teacher, neighborhood leader, and Commissioner to San José’s Clean Energy Community Advisory Commission while serving as CEO for a technology company he founded. His vision for San José includes increasing housing supply at all income levels, using new innovative strategies to address homelessness, and investing in transit infrastructure. Matt intends to accomplish these goals by increasing collaboration between local businesses and the City of San José.

“Matt’s past experience both in the community and in the business sector will help him be an effective legislator on the San José City Council. In a time of unprecedented growth, coupled with the challenges of housing costs and traffic congestion, Matt brings a fresh perspective that will positively impact San José residents for years to come” said Matthew R. Mahood, President & CEO of The SVO. “Out of all the candidates running in this race, Matt is the most prepared and most knowledgeable on the issues that matter to his district.”

In addition to the SVO PAC’s endorsement, Matt’s other current key endorsements include Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone, San José Mayor Sam Liccardo, San Jose Vice Mayor Chappie Jones, Councilmember Lan Diep, and Councilmember Pam Foley. He also counts former San Jose Mayors Chuck Reed, Tom McEnery and Ron Gonzales among his key supporters.

“With just under six months still left until the March 2020 primary, Matt has already secured support from numerous San Jose leaders and District 10 community members. This is a testament to his ability to deliver results through building a diverse coalition of stakeholders throughout San José” said Anil Babbar, SVO PAC Chair.
