Matt Mahan kicked off his campaign for San Jose City Council District 10 with more than 200 community supporters at a rally at Amato Pizzeria in Almaden on September 14.
Mahan was joined by San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and other community leaders that support his independent leadership to improve every neighborhood in District 10. “I support Mahan’s mission to improve San Jose by empowering every single neighborhood,” Liccardo said.
Mahan was introduced by neighborhood leaders Roxanne and Greg Koopman. Also in attendance were Councilmember Johnny Khamis, former Councilmember Nancy Pyle, and Sierra Club Guadalupe Regional Chair Dave Poeschel.
“I know we can make San Jose an even stronger community — and that starts with great neighborhoods,” Mahan said. “By empowering our neighborhoods so City Hall hears from us — not the special interests with the loudest voices — we can build a safer, more affordable and livable community,” said Mahan.
Mahan is a member of the Almaden Valley Community Association, the D10 Leadership Coalition, the City’s Clean Energy Commission, and helped found the Friends of Guadalupe Oak Grove Park organization. Mahan is also co-founder and former CEO of Brigade, a nonpartisan technology platform that empowers voters to become informed, discuss, and advocate on civic issues that matter most to them.
